About this Course
This is an Accredited Course by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), at MQF/EQF Level 6, with 60 ECTS.
This top up degree is aimed at learners who wish to complete their degree in HR. The HRM function is a beneficial one, and just like the financial function and marketing function make part of the vital business function, the HR person also makes part of the vital business function to complete and achieve the overall organisational and corporate goals and objectives. Apart from the administrative function of HR being beneficial, it oversees the variety of individuals of an organisation, and focuses on the human aspect of a corporate function.
This top up degree is aimed to educate learners about the Human Resource process and the roles and responsibilities of the Human Resource person. With modules ranging from the administrative procedures, to more detailed processes such as performance appraisals, learners will gain a wide knowledge about the world of Human Resources.
This diploma also focuses on the soft skills of the Human Resources person, such as understanding team dynamics. It also tackles the world of organisational behaviours, culture, structure and strategies like employer branding and project management.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, the learner will be able to:
- Understand knowledge that builds upon advanced HRM theories and principles, and which relate to key HRM functions including recruitment and selection, employment law, performance appraisal, employee health and well-being, employee rewards, and learning training and development
- Critically evaluate and apply key HRM theories and principles to an organisational setting
- Understand and practice with complex methods and tools related to learning, training and development
- Make judgements based on relevant social and ethical issues that arise in the HRM field such as collective bargaining and industrial relations
Awarding Body
This qualification is awarded by MISCO Business Academy. This qualification is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority. The MFHEA deems this Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management and Development (Top-Up) to be at MQF/EQF Level 6 with 60 ECTS in the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements are a diploma at minimum MQF Level 5 in Human Resource Management, Business studies or any other related subject (120 ECTS Credits) If an applicant does not meet the above entry requirements, you are encouraged to contact the Academy for an interview.
Assessment Mode
The programme includes different forms of assessment which allow for and promote students’ critical engagement.
Summative Assessments: Multiple choice test; Presentation; Short answer questions; Case study
Formative Assessments: Course work; Written assignment; Survey; Panel discussion (learners will be provided tutorial support for written assignments and surveys, hence making these formative assessments)
Language of Instruction & Delivery Mode
This programme will be delivered in English in our Campus in Birkirkara.
The course will be delivered through a flexible combination of modern face-to-face lectures, webinars, seminars and discussion forums, tutorials, group work, case studies, guest speakers, organisational visits and independent study.
